Shaker
Shaker kitchen cabinet doors get their name from the Shaker furniture style characterized by clean and functional design. Shaker cabinets are made using rail and stile construction (four pieces make the frame and a single flat panel sits in the center).
Inset
Inset cabinetry features doors and drawers that fit inside of the cabinet face frame openings, as opposed to resting outside the frame. This type of cabinet construction gives a full view of the cabinet frame, with only minimal spacing or gaps between the cabinet components.
Slab
A slab door is a solid, flat door with no frame or panel. Slab cabinet door styles are usually selected for transitional and contemporary designs. Because there are no frames or inset panels, flat cabinet doors look clean and minimalist, making them especially attractive in contemporary homes.
Raised Panel
A raised panel door is a cabinet door with a center panel that is a little higher than the surrounding wood. Raised panel cabinet doors are very popular because they can be used in both traditional and modern kitchen designs. The door is built by placing the panel in grooves that have been cut into the frame of the door or by attaching the panel using an adhesive.
